I have also been decidedly lax about blogging on my own site. Like you, I feel like it's time NOT spent on my MS, time not getting this new partial ready for my agent, etc. But I do enjoy the thoughts of other writers and the thoughts of book reviewers.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17008393380426608631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8429961999468918859.post-87781367052966953352011-07-29T05:30:03.173-06:002011-07-29T05:30:03.173-06:00I read widely across genres, but my main interest ...I read widely across genres, but my main interest is in literary fiction. I am a writer, and I can't imagine spending that much time in social networking. The writing comes first. I, too, blog infrequently due to time constraints, but I love the give and take of blogging, and I find information about the industry invaluable.Yvonne Osbornehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18212188414972694795noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8429961999468918859.post-20665597120416790932011-07-29T02:01:23.864-06:002011-07-29T02:01:23.864-06:00I read a lot of thrillers (surprise, surprise), bu...I read a lot of thrillers (surprise, surprise), but I also love horror, romance, and mainstream/literary.

Like you, I spend a lot of time social networking. Would love to trim it down, but with my debut novel having just been released, this is probably not the time to slow down. :) But I do genuinely enjoy reading blogs and finding out what folks are up to, and I like Facebook and Twitter, so that helps. It would probably feel like a chore if I didn't enjoy it!Jennifer Hillierhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15783975547643539868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8429961999468918859.post-91569984488444626072011-07-28T15:12:36.032-06:002011-07-28T15:12:36.032-06:00I read primarily women's fiction, paranormal r...I read primarily women's fiction, paranormal romance, and urban fantasy. I'll read out of my comfort zone though if a story sounds interesting.

I'm also a writer, and I'll be self-publishing my debut novel at the end of next month (women's fiction with a healthy dose of forbidden romance).

My blog is often the last thing I have time for these days and it doesn't matter how much I want to post, sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day. Plus my blog posts tend to be rather long sometimes so it's not like I can get in and get out quickly.

I like to read blogs about writing, but sometimes I think I'd be better off, you know, writing versus reading about how someone else goes about it. I also enjoy reading about the author on a personal level and knowing when they're getting ready to release a book.

All social media can be such a time suck, and there are times I want to stick my head under a rock and not engage anyone on Twitter, or leave blog comments, or deal with FB. But I know it's important and all I can do is try my best to fit it all in.tracey garvis graveshttp://www.traceygarvisgravesnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8429961999468918859.post-90997722597703665922011-07-28T10:42:13.336-06:002011-07-28T10:42:13.336-06:00Hi Amanda: I follow your blogs through Google read...Hi Amanda: I follow your blogs through Google reader, so I'm a miserable commenter. Sorry about that. I follow some uncountable number of blogs and about 95% are from writers, publishers, reviewers...in other words, the industry.

Anyway, my reading tastes are SF and fantasy primarily, but enjoy a mystery or two along the way. I don't seek out romance, but don't kick a book to the curb if it has a bit.

I write (TA DA!) SF, fantasy, and mystery. What a surprise. I have a new release of a mystery from MuseItUp tomorrow. The ebook appears to already be available thru Amazon.Cellophane Queenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08166797508899835493noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8429961999468918859.post-44175022252720629522011-07-28T09:55:52.535-06:002011-07-28T09:55:52.535-06:00I'm a reader. However, I'm not beyond dipping my toes in other genre's out of curiousity.

As for blogging. I'm surprised as all get out I have the followers I do. I'm lucky if I manage a post once or twice a month. I don't necessarily like to waste words to satisfy a timeline or schedule. When I do write I want to leave something that sinks deep beneath the skin and stays for awhile.

Reading other writers/authors is a favorite past-time. Why? I've never come across a writer who hasn't placed parts of themselves between the lines of whatever they write. Curiousity is a strange compulsion.
